The Esta Sea
Esta Sea represents a significant milestone as the first commercial Marine Electric Vessel (MEV) constructed in the Caribbean region and one of only a few such vessels worldwide. The vessel was developed in Grenada at Clarkes Court Bay Marina, utilizing the expertise of local designers, engineers, builders, and fabricators. The project commenced in January 2021 and reached completion in January 2024, spanning approximately four years.

Esta Sea Represents a Significant Milestone
The development process encountered substantial challenges, including complications from the COVID-19 pandemic, supply chain disruptions, skilled labor shortages, and financial constraints. Esta Sea is entirely locally owned and financed, with concessionary support provided by the Grenada Investment Development Corporation (GIDC).
The vessel is propelled by twin electric motors that produce zero emissions and is powered by lithium-ion battery storage, which is charged by its array of seventy 500-watt solar panels. Esta Sea exemplifies what can be accomplished through determination, resourcefulness, and strategic allocation of resources. This achievement represents a landmark accomplishment that distinguishes Grenada among neighboring Caribbean nations and should instill a profound sense of national pride among all Grenadians.
